WORSHIP DOESN'T JUST HAPPEN

WORSHIP DOESN'T JUST HAPPEN

Being present is not worship for it takes much more.

1.                    EXPECTATION  We must come with a deep desire to meet God.

Psalm 27:4      One thing I ask of the Lord, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life,  to gaze upon the beauty  of the Lord and to seek him in his temple.

Psalm 27:8    My heart says of you, "Seek his face!" Your face, Lord, I will seek.

Isaiah 55:6    Seek the Lord while he may be found;

call on him while he is near.

Jeremiah 29:13   You will seek me and find me when you

seek me with all your heart.

2.                    PREPARATION  Our heart and soul must be clean and our relationship with others MUST be right.

Romans 12:1-2    Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy,  to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of  worship.

Matthew 5:23-24  "Therefore, if you are offering your

gift at  the altar and there remember that your brother has

something against you, leave your gift there in front of

the altar. First go and be reconciled to your brother; then

come and offer your gift.

3.                    PARTICIPATION  We must participate through praise, prayer, thinking,   confessing, yielding, committing oneself totally to God and His will

John 4:23-24  Yet a time is coming and has now come when  the true Worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of  worshipers the Father seeks.   God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth."

Mark 12:30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and          with all your soul and with all your mind and with all                       your strength.'

Hebrews 12:28  Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom                        that cannot be  shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship                                 God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our "God is a                                 consuming fire."

4.                     ANTICIPATION  That God will be active in our lives each day as we follow Christ moment by moment.

Luke 9:23 Then he said to them all: "If anyone would come after me, he must deny  himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.

Philip. 1:20   I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death.

Rom 12:2  Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's  will is--his good, pleasing and perfect wi
